Keeping in line with the measures taken by the government to prevent the spread of COVID-19, STABLE’s exhibition space is closed until further notice.
OUR SPACE
STUDIO SPACE
STABLE studios are below market rate, non-living studio spaces for visual artists. Artists are selected based on merit from a competitive pool of applicants by an external jury comprised of arts professionals, and curators. The program is open to artists over the age of 21 who are American Citizens or have legal U.S. Residency status, and are not enrolled in a degree-granting program at the time of their residency. The program is open to artists of all disciplines of visual art.
All studios are currently full. Please stay tuned for opening announcements!
STUDIO
Our studio spaces range in size from 100 to 720 square feet. Between the two floors, there are a total of 21 studios spaces. Studios are dedicated to visual artists of different ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, ethnicities, career trajectories, genders, sexuality, and artistic patients. STABLE is committed to a cohort of artists that is reflective of the broader community.
POST STUDIO
The Post Studio space will allow individuals who do not need traditional studios to have shared desk space within the STABLE complex and join the community of artists currently at STABLE. This shared space will be made available to artists, independent curators and art writers.
EXHIBITION SPACE
STABLE boasts a 1,100 square feet Exhibition Space which features collaborations with partnering institutions and guest curators while providing opportunities for community and neighborhood events. STABLE staff will facilitate curatorial partnerships for the exhibition space but will not play a role in choosing which artists’ works will be featured in the Gallery, as it runs separately from the studio program.
